What is difference between Plinth Beam , Tie Beam , Foundation Beam , Footing Beam ?

PLINTH BEAM:-

First of all we know about plinth level ..plinth level is the level where sub - structure is end and the super structure is start.  In the simple word it is the topmost level of the ground level

The beam which is provide for the plinth level is called plinth beam. In the frame structure plinth beam is the first beam considered after foundation

PURPOSE OF PLINTH LEVEL:-

•   The distribution load of all wall on the foundation

•   To connect all the column 

•   To prevent cracks from the foundation to the wall

•   plinth beam reduce the water logging impact on the building during rainy season

TIE BEAM :-

The beam is connect two or more column /rafters in a roof / roof truss or in any height above floor level. This beam is called Tie beam. The Tie beam are mainly provide in the roof truss but tie beam don't carry load .Tie beam only act as a length breaker for column . when the floor is unusually height. 

PURPOSE OF TIE BEAM:-

•   The tie beam carry axiai compression

•   To transfer the Rafter's and Truss's load to the column

•   To prevent column from buckling

NOTE :-

The difference between tie beam and plinth beam .Actually their is no difference. Tie beam is also a type of plinth beam. Where beam is provide plinth level. It is know plinth beam. It's mean the difference only the height at which they are provide.

FOOTING BEAM / FOUNDATION BEAM :-

The footing beam and foundation beam is only one beam .its mean only name different. These beam provide with the footing .footing beam connect with two footing. Show below the diagram.

purpose OF THESE BEAM :-

•   These beam provide where the bearing capacity of soil is not good

•   These beam carry more strength and stability other footing
