The bricks is manufacture in different size but here take a standard size of brick 20x10x10 cm with mortar and without mortar is 19x9x9 cm.
Given Data :-
Mortar thickness = 10 mm
Ratio of cement & sand. = 1:6
Volume Considere = 1 cum
Solution :-
Sum of cement and sand = 1+6 => 7
Volume of bricks with mortar = 20x10x10cm
=.002m3 ( change the unit cm to m)
No. of bricks = volume/ volume of brick
1/.002 = 500bricks
Volume of brick without mortar. = 19x9x9cm
= .001539m3
Now we know that number of bricks in 1 cum 500 bricks with mortar .then we take 500 bricks volume without mortar
Volume of bricks in 1 cum volume = 500x .001539
= .769cum(m3)
• volume of mortar = (volume of 1 cum - volume of bricks without mortar)
= 1 - .769 => .231 cum(m3)
.231 is the wet volume but we have need dry volume so = .231x1.33 => .30723 cum (m3)
• CEMENT
= Volume of mortar x ( cement/sum ratio) x density of cement
= .30723 x (1/7) x 1440
= 63.201kg
No. of bags = 63.201/ 50
= 1.26 bags
• SAND :-
= Volume of mortar x ( sand/sum ratio ) x 35.28
= .30723 x ( 6/7) x 35.28
= 9.29 CFT
• BRICK
